You can use a really thick grease in the stock diff or add some silicon ear plugs inside and get a more resistance to replicate an lsd. Could have a balance of both

  2. Rek RC says:

I took the front diff out completely, locked the rear diff, and now my car is an absolute madman for wheelies , burn outs , drifting , and if you can keep it strait it's speed is caaaaaarrrrazzzzzyyyyy. It seems to have a bit more "horsepower " but of course it would since it's only putting power to one diff. It's harder to drive but certainly more fun too. I fully expect something to break but until then it's going to be fun. Oh it did break a hex like yours did.

  3. 75Chopin says:

Ok sounds like diff lock at least for the rear is bad idea. It won't steer properly and destroy your wheels! Maybe good with crawler or really loose ground like sand, snow?

  4. Peter Alexander says:

I wished every RC for offroad had difflock. Always those poor cars struggeling with the wrong wheel powered when they meet a little bump. The wheel that makes contact with the ground does nothing, because of the diff. How stupid is that in a fourwheeldrive when you just need it. In my crawler is a locked diff. It comes everywhere and does not complain with spinning wheels in the air when he needs traction. It always hás traction. I can do donuts, slide..climb uneven things with ease… everything you want. Differentials are a handicap in rc offroad.

  5. VIDEO CARDZ RULE says:

I have a Xmaxx 8S. Front diff is stock, center diff is stock too, rear diff is totally locked lol.

I removed the rear diff, and I installed the Hot Racing spool. Rear locked axle on a Xmaxx is a must! It helps off reading so much too! Your always three wheel drive minimum. It makes crawling over terrain much easier. And it puts down full and evenly distributed power to both rear tires at the same time. I love it!!

I have seen no side effects to a locked rear end on an 8S X-Maxx. It works and i’ll never go back to an open diff!

  6. Cornelius Aurelius says:

LoL you have Not been Driving RC's for Very long have you little fella!?? With things like wheels falling off and bearings collapsing or unseating etc etc, essentially just flat out FAILING, I would suggest that you start hanging around someone who knows what they're doing, or even better, join an RC Club……..and get those lads & ladies to show you whats what and how to tighten up and install ' Everything ' PROPERLY so you don't have failures left right and centre just from simple driving with a Tiny jump.

I Disagree with you regarding the Locked diff……..it is absolutely Worth doing the mod to the Rear in a 4WD Truggy or Monster Truck whatever tickles ya Fancy. Great Traction in ALL Scenario's, and best of all, Consistent predictability.
Anyone reading, you can not go wrong, by having this done. Just remember like the video Author states, you will have a Wider turning circle if your Servo is Not up to scratch 100% and it is much harder on your tyres whilst doing so, unless you're on a Loose surface.
    Pure Awesomeness.

Best of Luck Josh. You will get there buddy.

  7. George R says:

Nice moccasins lol👍👍 cool 📸 I have the hot racing sealed diff for my 2 wheel drive rustler & I'm using 100K silicone diff fluid so it's not 100% locked but maybe 90% locked or something runs good tho

  8. Perkinss Ss says:

but this is in a 2wd model,it’s different in 4×4 anyway a locked diff gets u out of being stuck much easier and taking off the staring line in a drag race you’ll take off quicker,do i have any other cars besides a rustler or trap as models??
