Paracetamol is mainly to help get rid of sharp pains like headaches, migraines etc not EVERYTHING. Lawn games are old fashioned or privileged, and now are not common. Most have heard of vampire diaries 😁.
Sorry to break it to you, but paracetamol and acetaminophen are two names for the same chemical compound. It seems that you are experiencing a placebo effect.
I recall doing a summer camp as a kid in the UK but it was for a 5-day week. It was fun: quad bikes, climbing, ziplines, archery, computer games. No cheers or lakes. Calpol is FULL of sugar, so it does taste nice. Calpol is paracetamol suspension. Paracetamol is just the weakest painkiller available, aspirin is also quite common for mild symptoms. A slightly stronger painkiller you might get with prescription is co-codamol. We do say doppelganger. Those of us in the UK who have watched "How I met your mother" also say doppelbanger

I know the term doppelganger having grown up in the 70s/80s there was a lot of spooky/scary programming and books. Look up the "Haunted Generation" it covers that time. It fueled my interest (not necessarily belief) in the supernatural and weird.
I agree with other posters saying that I wouldn't enjoy a summer camp. Because I grew up when I did we were mostly out all the time only coming back for tea (evening meal – I'm up north).
Paracetamol is acetaminophen. So is Tylenol. So is Panadol. Different local or brand names for the same chemical.
Doppleganger is a very well known word in the UK though its use may well be dying out, around my area someone would most likely say 'spitting image' to refer to someone of almost identical appearance.

The interesting, and maybe, terrifying fact about paracetamol is this. If Paracetamol was newly developed, and released on the market today then it would be prescription only. A POM, Prescription only medicene.
The reason for this is all to do with the LD50. Lethal Dose 50. In short, its the number of tablets, doses, milligrams whatever, anyway the LD50 means how many can you take before 50% of the people die.
The LD50 is important for the prediction of human lethal dose and for the prediction of the symptomatology of poisoning after acute overdosing in humans. The LD50 value is a base from which other doses could be designed in subacute and chronic toxicity experiments.
Paracetamol oral LD50 was found to be greater than 2000 mg kg-1, whereas the intraperitoneal LD50 was 1900 mg kg-1.
Thats no bueno. Also, its very haphazard, people can have a huge range of tolerance/sensitivity to paracetamol, and its now very frowned upon, and numbers of 500mg tabs are being severely restricted when sold. Also, the issue is made more hazardous given its ease of joining with other meds such as Ibuprofen. Its actually the most common cause of overdose in many countries.
Sorry about the long diatribe, but its important, I think to make people aware. Oh and gripe water is crap, they took the alcohol out.

In regards to Summer Camp – I am British but my cousins moved to Massachusetts when they were about 8 or 9 and I would often go and visit them on my summer holidays. On a couple of occasions we ended up at Summer Camp and, being very young and the only Brit kid there and a total fish out of water, I pretty much hated them. The only great memory I have was when they put on a footy (soccer) match in my honour and I ran rings around everyone and I felt like Ronaldo, lol. We do have something very similar here in the UK but they're not so much "summer camps" and more like week-long adventure holidays that (at least sun my day) we would go on with our school. The big one back when I was a kid was called PGL (I cannot remember what it stands for but we used to say it was short for "Parents Get Lost"!) and I am pretty sure they still exist. There was another one whose name I cannot quite remember also.
Paracetamol doesn't cause stomach problems, as aspirin can do. But an overdose is easier and fatal -it kills your liver. And, unlike aspirin, it doesn't help with fevers and inflammation.

"Stay away" camps do exist, they're typically associated with the Scouts, Guides, Boys Brigade or, the camps I went on, the St John's Ambulance Brigade.

For 2 different years I spent a couple of weeks on holiday to the lake District for an outward bounds camp.
It seems to me that Americans have tried very hard to change the names of everything in the English language.
