Also, I hope you enjoy the test, even if it is a lot like the all season test (we shoot them at the same time, January for snow and April for dry and wet.)
Hankook for me looks the best all rounder, can grip well in dry,wet,snow and they are cheaper than the Continental, Michelin Goodyear. Question is will they last less? Meaning the rubber will loose its properties faster than the premium brands or where is the real downside?
Great vid, but… I see you test the PILOT Alpine 5 … not the just "Alpin 5" (without the "pilot") …. and yes, there is a Michelin tire called just "Alpin 5" …. so now, if you can help me, which are the differences between those Alpins 5 ?¿ …. why didn't you pick the Alpin 5 (not-pilot) instead the pilot Alpine 5? ….. just want to learn and see why there are two Alpins 5 and why are they so similar but different.
Also, why didn't you pick also the new Alpine 6?

Really surprised you don’t use winter tyres yourself. I have always considered the UK winter climate (particularly further North) to be very suited to winter tyres. Particularly freeze-thaw cycles and plenty of mud/leaves making at least as strong an argument as snow would.
A secondary bonus for me is that a twice-a-year tyre swap keeps a car interesting because it makes a big change to the character.
It cannot be 9 or 10 best tires on the market !! Best tire it is cheap and good and it could be 1 or 2 models. Please redo your video….

ooh, yes! what those guys said! It's time to start putting some tyres away, like fine wine. Set some on a shelf and take them out once a year for testing and rotate the others for use all year round and bring them back at testing season to go up against their younger selves! Tyre age and wear are huge factors in safety. Back in the day i had some tyres that were fabulous, new and turned diabolical after 3 years, still with plenty of tread. ANother set were useless when new, lost half the tread in under a year, then seemingly, by magin, turned into a fairly good tyre. (obviously compound layering). Love to see some follow up tests. (even on different cars. Interesting to see the relative performance changes.

I notice you always do these tests with fresh new tires, but manufacturers recommend a break in period of 500 miles before one can expect the full performance level. How much does break in actually matter? Could it ever change the rank ordering?
why use one of the cheapest option nokian has to offer? why not use the nokian hakapelliita 8 or 9 or 10 or even the r3 ? give it a better chance since your using other top of the line tires from other manufacturers

Is the most important test of a Winter tire is its ice traction and its below 0 Fahrenheit traction. Why no testing for that?
Apprently the Coninental 870p doesn’t exist in 225 / 45 / 17…. Only the 870 (without p) exist for that dimension. But the tire profile is different… do you test it ???
The Blizzak performing low in Snow testing is SAD!!!! This used to be the best if not one of the best for snow and icy road conditions.!! Can't believe there quality has gone down🤔
