😊Before you all ask, I did speak to Bridgestone, Continental, Dunlop and Pirelli when arranging this test, however they all declined to be involved, mostly due to their current product line in this sector being old and a new one is round the corner. I also spoke to Kumho, Toyo and Yokohama, who declined but gave no reasons.

I think that Michelin decided that the tread of the tire will be only 6.8 mm due to the desire to obtain low rolling resistance and thus lower fuel consumption approval values for manufacturers of new cars. I consider Goodyear's approach fairer, aquaplaning is one of the more common causes of accidents on motorways (at high speeds). the situation will worsen as the tire wears. Goodyear – winner, Michelin – shame on you.

I have found several manufacturers that offer different speed ratings for a particular tire at the same size. For instance, there is both a H rated and a V rated Efficientgrip 2 SUV in 235/55 R17. I am not sure which of those to buy.

Fantastic video, this has helped a lot. I've been looking for tyres for my VW T5 so as it's not going to be driven like a sports car, wet braking, wet handling and comfort are my priorities so the Uniroyal gets my vote. And there's not many tyres in the R20" bracket either but the Rainsport is available, thanks again.
Did you have the same tire pressure on all tires on the Tiguan? What pressure?

Great test. I am hesitating between the Goodyear EfficientGrip 2 SUV and the Goodyear Eagle f1 Asymmetric 5. The car is a RAV4 Hybrid AWD, size 235/55/18. I did not find a direct comparison, can anyone help
No Continentals? No Pirellis? Running Continentals on my Mazda6, in fact second set. Very pleased with the winter traction. Just bought a Telluride that is supposed to be fitted with Michelins. It was delivered with Pirellis. Terrible tires, handles in snow like there’s barely any tread left. Plan to install a pair of Michelin Cross Country 2’s before next winter. It’s a 2wd. Didn’t find what I was looking for in this video.
Goodyear tyres are made in the UK. Michelin in France ! ! Buy the British guys

The problem with the GY was that it begone to lose small pieces or rubber in the first 10k km, and the stripe of rubber near the outside side wall became like stairs. Now they have 55k km and are totally done.
I used it 100% on roads dry or wet according to the weather, with 20% on snow.
235-55-18 is not a popular size

Hi everyone, I would like to congrats your whole team for the work you actually do.
I would really appreciate if you can help me out to choose the right size for my wheels (rims) for a BMW X3 2018. I live in Romania with a quite reasonable winter( the temperature goes down to -10 Celsius and medium snow) and summer time it feels like Mediterranean one now with all the climate change.
The car has come with R18 rims and I personally think to use them for winter time, but I am not quite sure what to get for summer.

I have Goodyear Eagle Sport A/S on my 2019 Q3!, I’m not that impressed so far. I thought it a weird choice. I need snow and forrest road tires. Big potholes and some mud. They are 18” rims thank goodness for that

It's surprising the Michelin and BFG aren't closer together in performance, since BFG is owned by Michelin.

Thank you for this video, very informative. My new Rav 4 came with Primacy and they seem ok just much noisier then other brands i have had on past vehicles. Of course there is a variety of factors to this i would imagine
