1:1 technology is changing the way Burlington High School students learn chemistry. Supported by the Partnership’s Teacher Investment Fund, science teachers Molly Heath, Aaron Fogg, and Jacqueline Kohler, with tech-integration support from Vitaliy Kupalin, piloted a technology-rich unit on nuclear radiation in fall 2013.
Using the Modern Chemistry iBook and iPad apps that give all students access to critical resources for scientific investigation, students worked collaboratively to gain a deeper understanding of alpha, beta, and gamma radiation. In addition, this pilot supports increased student engagement in science and contributes to the integration of science, math, and technology learning.
