A Team-Based Approach

Implementation Teams

For the Partnership’s first two years, multi-stakeholder teams engaged in collaborative learning, experimentation, and research around each of our five levers for change. Led by two co-chairs and a Partnership fellow, Implementation Teams brought together educators, youth, families, business leaders, and community partners to learn about and support the work being done to reshape education in Winooski and Burlington. Our Implementation Teams set a lot of important work in motion during those two years, including:

Design Thinking Teams

As we work toward full-scale implementation in year three, we will again call on our whole community to help remodel the educational system. Teachers and administrators at Winooski Middle/High School and Burlington High School are identifying specific areas where they need the community’s input. Then, educators, students, parents, and community members will work together to address these challenges using design thinking, the problem-solving framework favored by some of the world’s most innovative organizations.

This team-based approach to school change is an outgrowth of recent learning in our communities around design thinking in education. Two experienced design thinking facilitators, a Burlington parent and a BHS teacher, will co-lead the community through this process.
